Lehnsgaard rapeseed oil is much more than just an oil – it is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, local production and a deep commitment to quality and sustainability. Every drop comes from carefully selected Danish rape fields. We go out into the fields ourselves during flowering and just before harvest to ensure that the quality is high enough for our cold-pressed rapeseed germ oil.

Lehnsgaard cold-pressed rapeseed oil is indispensable in any cuisine. Its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids makes it heat stable, making it perfect for frying, sautéing and deep-frying. Due to its high smoke point, you can heat the oil without compromising on flavour or quality.
The mild flavour of rapeseed oil also makes it ideal for cold dishes such as salads, marinades and dressings. Use it as a base in mayonnaise or drizzle it over potatoes and vegetables to enhance their natural flavour. With our oil in different flavours, you can add a unique touch to your dishes – only your imagination sets the limit.
A good rule of thumb is that 100 g of hard fat can be replaced by 85 g rapeseed oil.
A healthier and more natural choice
Lehnsgaard rapeseed oil is a healthier alternative to more traditional fats such as butter and margarine. With a saturated fat content of only 7%, rapeseed oil contains significantly less of the “hazardous” fats compared to olive oil, for example, which has almost twice as much saturated fat*. This means that you can reduce the risk of high cholesterol and cardiovascular diseases.
Rapeseed oil is also a rich source of the healthy fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6, which are essential for a healthy heart. Especially omega-3 is hard to get enough of from plant-based foods, but is found naturally in our cold-pressed rapeseed germ oil. These fatty acids help maintain a healthy cholesterol balance by lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and increasing good cholesterol (HDL).
Sustainable and careful production
Our production is not just about making a good oil – it is also about doing it right. Lehnsgaard rapeseed oil is made of rapeseed harvested from Danish fields on Bornholm and then gently cold-pressed in our oil mill.
Cold pressing preserves natural vitamins, antioxidants and the delicate, nutty flavour that makes the oil so versatile for cooking. Many other oils on the market are made from unhusked seeds, which can give a bitter aftertaste, but our process ensures a cleaner and milder flavour.
Our factory is almost CO₂ neutral, as we use solar energy from solar panels on the roof and convert by-products from production into nutritious animal feed supplied to local farmers. This means that our rapeseed oil is not only good for your health – it is also good for the environment.
